CCTV Installation
Want a camera covering the drive, the front door or a business entrance? CCTV installation for domestic and commercial properties is on the AJS list of services.
Send a photo of the area you want covered to start.
Before you decide where cameras go
The Information Commissioner's Office has guidance for anyone with CCTV at home:
Cover your own property. Where possible, cameras should be positioned to capture only your own property.
Know when the law applies. If a camera captures someone else's property, a public area or a communal space, data protection law applies.
Only what you need. Think about what area needs to be covered and what images or audio will be captured. You should not capture more than you need.
Use privacy blocking. Where possible, apply filters or privacy blockers to blur or block out part of the footage.
What to tell AJS
What you want to see. The drive, a door, a gate or a yard, and whether it is a home or a business.
Photos. Of each area, and of the wall where a camera might go.
What is there now. Any existing cameras, outside lights or outside power.
This page does not recommend a particular brand or system. Ask about options when you describe the job.
Cameras, lighting and alarms
CCTV can be planned alongside other security work. Security lighting covers lights at the front and back of a property, house alarm installation covers alarms, and door entry and intercom systems cover controlled entry.
